Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Consumer Staples and Banking sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Transport, Real Estate & Construction and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.75%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 4.26% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.563 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 3.27% or 0.015 points to end at 0.474 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was up 2.82% or 0.024 points to 0.874 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA), which lost 8.03% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.260 in late trade. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 1.80% or 0.030 points to end at 1.640 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) shed 1.77% or 0.110 points to 6.090.
The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which rose 14.60% to 2.59, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was up 5.56% to settle at 7.60 and Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which gained 4.35% to close at 0.96.
The worst performers were Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 1.56% to 0.630 in late trade, Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which lost 0.72% to settle at 2.76 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was down 0.15% to 6.82 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 9 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 rose and 3 declined, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.43% or 0.18 to $41.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.22% or 0.09 to hit $41.45 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.64% or 8.00 to trade at $1252.20 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.27% to 4.1184.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 95.59.
