Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.73%, while the ADX General index added 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 4.92% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.280 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 4.17% or 0.025 points to end at 0.625 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 2.08% or 0.07 points to 3.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which lost 7.22% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.450 in late trade. Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB) declined 4.27% or 5.00 points to end at 112.00 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) shed 3.14% or 0.015 points to 0.462.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 13.27% to 3.50, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 3.66% to settle at 0.850 and Waha Capital (AD:WAHA) which gained 3.64% to close at 2.28.
The worst performers were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was down 10.00% to 3.51 in late trade, Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which lost 3.75% to settle at 1.54 and Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 3.06% to 0.95 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 9 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 fell and 10 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.41% or 1.09 to $44.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.79% or 1.40 to hit $48.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.62% or 7.00 to trade at $1127.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.39% to 4.1228.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 95.94.
