Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Transport, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.04%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD), which rose 3.05% or 0.250 points to trade at 8.450 at the close. Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) added 1.24% or 0.030 points to end at 2.450 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was up 0.86% or 0.01 points to 1.17 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which lost 2.88% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.010 in late trade. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 2.20% or 0.060 points to end at 2.670 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) shed 1.43% or 0.020 points to 1.380.
The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which rose 2.41% to 0.8500, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was up 1.82% to settle at 0.560 and First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which gained 1.68% to close at 12.10.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 5.84% to 1.45 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which lost 3.92% to settle at 0.490 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 3.43% to 2.250 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 rose and 11 declined, while 5 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.82% or 0.39 to $47.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.94% or 0.46 to hit $48.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.45 to trade at $1343.85 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.09% to 4.1627.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 94.31.
