Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Consumer Staples and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Transport and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.01%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 4.62% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.385 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 2.92% or 0.017 points to end at 0.600 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 2.40% or 0.015 points to 0.640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which lost 3.17% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.890 in late trade. ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) declined 1.45% or 0.050 points to end at 3.400 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) shed 1.05% or 0.009 points to 0.845.
The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which rose 12.37% to 1.09, Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which was up 3.28% to settle at 0.630 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which gained 2.99% to close at 0.690.
The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 6.67% to 0.420 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 5.45% to settle at 2.60 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.61% to 0.620 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 9 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 rose and 10 declined on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.01% or 1.05 to $51.15 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.75% or 1.02 to hit $57.13 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.70 to trade at $1152.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.17% to 4.0479.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.80.
