Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Transport and Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.14%, while the ADX General index added 0.25%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which rose 9.93% or 6.95 points to trade at 76.95 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 1.67% or 0.020 points to end at 1.220 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 1.05% or 0.009 points to 0.869 in late trade.

Biggest losers included DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE), which lost 1.56% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.694 in late trade. Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK) declined 0.93% or 0.010 points to end at 1.070 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) shed 0.87% or 0.010 points to 1.140.

The top performers on the ADX General were Em Driving Co (AD:DRIV) which rose 15.00% to 9.20, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was up 13.64% to settle at 0.500 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which gained 3.80% to close at 0.820.

The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 5.66% to 2.000 in late trade, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which lost 1.43% to settle at 3.450 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 1.28% to 0.7700 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 rose and 13 declined, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.63% or 0.40 to $63.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.46% or 0.32 to hit $69.52 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1319.70 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.01% to 4.3883.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 92.17.
