United Arab Emirates shares higher at close of trade; DFM General up 1.86%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Finance & Investment and Services sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 1.86%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.01%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 10.40% or 0.052 points to trade at 0.552 at the close. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 6.88% or 0.110 points to end at 1.710 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) was up 4.52% or 0.280 points to 6.480 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which lost 5.36% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.530 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 1.97% or 0.014 points to end at 0.695 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) shed 1.61% or 0.02 points to 1.22.

The top performers on the ADX General were Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which rose 4.87% to 2.37, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 4.76% to settle at 0.880 and Methaq (AD:METH) which gained 3.75% to close at 0.830.

The worst performers were Em Driving Co (AD:DRIV) which was down 9.09% to 5.00 in late trade, Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which lost 6.67% to settle at 0.84 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 3.23% to 0.300 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 4; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 fell and 12 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.63% or 0.76 to $45.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.55% or 0.77 to hit $48.79 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.37% or 4.20 to trade at $1137.20 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.15% to 4.0485.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.90.
