Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Banking and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 1.03%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 2.88% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.430 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 2.17% or 0.021 points to end at 0.987 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was up 2.14% or 0.030 points to 1.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which lost 2.09% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.563 in late trade. Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) declined 1.50% or 0.020 points to end at 1.310 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) shed 0.20% or 0.001 points to 0.491.
The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which rose 13.64% to 1.0000, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was up 13.51% to settle at 0.420 and Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which gained 11.11% to close at 3.60.
The worst performers were Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 1.67% to 0.590 in late trade, Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which lost 0.48% to settle at 6.25 and Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which was unchanged 0.00% to 2.730 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 rose and 4 declined, while 11 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.43% or 0.21 to $49.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.54% or 0.27 to hit $50.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.15% or 15.35 to trade at $1354.35 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.13% to 4.0854.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.78.
