Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Consumer Staples and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.47%, while the ADX General index gained 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 7.50% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.720 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 4.26% or 0.020 points to end at 0.490 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) was up 3.39% or 0.040 points to 1.220 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD), which lost 9.86% or 0.700 points to trade at 6.400 in late trade. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 5.07% or 0.070 points to end at 1.310 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) shed 1.77% or 0.009 points to 0.500.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 2.38% to 0.430, Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which was up 2.30% to settle at 15.60 and Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which gained 1.82% to close at 2.80.
The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 9.68% to 1.40 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 7.64% to settle at 2.88 and Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was down 4.76% to 2.00 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 13 advanced on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.05% or 0.47 to $43.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.32% or 0.15 to hit $47.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1087.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.03% to 3.9400.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 99.20.
