Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Real Estate & Construction and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.05%, while the ADX General index added 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 9.44% or 0.047 points to trade at 0.545 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 6.32% or 0.041 points to end at 0.690 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was up 3.61% or 0.060 points to 1.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which lost 1.85% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.060 in late trade. Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) declined 1.76% or 0.090 points to end at 5.010 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) shed 1.41% or 0.020 points to 1.400.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 13.89% to 0.410, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was up 8.64% to settle at 0.8800 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 5.17% to close at 0.610.
The worst performers were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was down 9.85% to 2.380 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 1.84% to settle at 1.60 and Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 1.49% to 1.990 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 11 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 rose and 10 declined, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.32% or 0.65 to $48.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.36% or 0.68 to hit $49.21 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.17% or 2.05 to trade at $1219.55 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.24% to 4.0984.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 95.55.
