Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Food & Beverages and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME), which rose 4.07% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.300 at the close. Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) added 3.94% or 0.050 points to end at 1.320 and Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) was up 3.90% or 0.120 points to 3.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE), which lost 5.07% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.060 in late trade. Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC) declined 3.99% or 0.130 points to end at 3.130 and Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) shed 3.85% or 0.290 points to 7.240.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 259 to 85 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 2.58% or 32.65 to $1233.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.31% or 1.48 to hit $43.18 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.18% or 1.46 to trade at $44.38 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.10% to 3.2542, while EUR/TRY fell 0.18% to 3.5332.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 98.98.
