Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Transport, Electricity and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 6.15% or 1.34 points to trade at 23.14 at the close. Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) added 3.35% or 0.57 points to end at 17.56 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) was up 2.67% or 0.62 points to 23.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which lost 19.66% or 0.460 points to trade at 1.880 in late trade. Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) declined 4.54% or 0.400 points to end at 8.410 and Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) shed 4.16% or 11.30 points to 260.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 282 to 69 and 57 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.07% or 0.95 to $1273.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.20% or 1.11 to hit $49.45 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.23% or 1.16 to trade at $50.79 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.93% to 2.9188, while EUR/TRY rose 0.63% to 3.2943.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 94.38.
