Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 3.42% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.210 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 3.39% or 0.170 points to end at 5.180 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was up 3.28% or 0.020 points to 0.630 in late trade.
Biggest losers included T. Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB), which lost 6.06% or 0.73 points to trade at 11.31 in late trade. Halk Gmyo (IS:HLGYO) declined 5.77% or 0.060 points to end at 0.980 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) shed 4.76% or 1.00 points to 20.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 236 to 108 and 64 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.13% or 1.65 to $1224.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.91% or 0.48 to hit $53.41 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.08% or 0.60 to trade at $56.19 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.19% to 3.6787, while EUR/TRY fell 0.12% to 3.8883.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 101.33.
