Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Sports and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar (IS:OTKAR), which rose 7.06% or 6.85 points to trade at 103.90 at the close. Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) added 4.27% or 10.50 points to end at 256.50 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) was up 3.78% or 0.21 points to 5.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL), which lost 5.08% or 0.76 points to trade at 14.19 in late trade. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) declined 4.61% or 0.20 points to end at 4.14 and Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) shed 4.60% or 0.110 points to 2.280.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 234 to 93 and 82 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.24% or 3.00 to $1244.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.72% or 0.36 to hit $50.05 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.56 to trade at $51.11 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.20% to 2.8983, while EUR/TRY fell 0.18% to 3.2919.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 93.87.
