Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which rose 7.20% or 0.180 points to trade at 2.680 at the close. Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) added 6.22% or 0.130 points to end at 2.220 and Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) was up 5.21% or 0.220 points to 4.440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 2.70% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.360 in late trade. Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN) declined 2.55% or 0.23 points to end at 8.79 and Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN) shed 2.54% or 0.210 points to 8.060.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 237 to 129 and 41 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.32% or 3.95 to $1234.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.38% or 0.75 to hit $53.58 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.55% or 0.88 to trade at $55.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.72% to 3.5944, while EUR/TRY fell 0.69% to 3.7896.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 101.45.
