Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Metal Products & Machinery and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 4.18% or 0.90 points to trade at 22.44 at the close. Do-Co (IS:DOCO) added 3.83% or 8.50 points to end at 230.50 and Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) was up 2.94% or 0.090 points to 3.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turk Traktor (IS:TTRAK), which lost 4.28% or 3.60 points to trade at 80.50 in late trade. Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) declined 3.56% or 0.490 points to end at 13.270 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) shed 2.60% or 0.190 points to 7.130.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 236 to 103 and 67 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.44% or 5.95 to $1348.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.47% or 0.66 to hit $45.49 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.52% or 0.72 to trade at $47.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.52% to 2.9387, while EUR/TRY rose 0.34% to 3.3026.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.99.
