Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Transport and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 21.22% or 1.22 points to trade at 6.97 at the close. Vestel (IS:VESTL) added 6.50% or 0.290 points to end at 4.750 and Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) was up 6.14% or 13.50 points to 233.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA), which lost 6.37% or 26.00 points to trade at 382.00 in late trade. Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO) declined 4.31% or 0.11 points to end at 2.44 and Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) shed 2.63% or 0.190 points to 7.030.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 221 to 182 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.57% or 6.80 to $1177.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.08% or 0.65 to hit $61.03 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.51% or 0.95 to trade at $64.30 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.58% to 2.6809, while EUR/TRY fell 0.87% to 2.9972.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.08% at 95.54.
