Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Insurance, Textile & Leather and Tourism sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 8.42% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.030 at the close. Ayen Enerji (IS:AYEN) added 3.26% or 0.140 points to end at 4.440 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 2.63% or 0.060 points to 2.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which lost 3.38% or 0.35 points to trade at 10.02 in late trade. Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) declined 2.75% or 0.120 points to end at 4.240 and Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) shed 2.27% or 0.20 points to 8.62.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 212 to 128 and 69 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.43% or 5.05 to $1172.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.79% or 0.89 to hit $50.66 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 0.87 to trade at $53.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.92% to 3.4547, while EUR/TRY rose 0.58% to 3.6667.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.96% at 101.24.
