Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Textile & Leather, Wood, Paper & Printing and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA), which rose 5.63% or 0.180 points to trade at 3.380 at the close. Erbosan Erciyas Boru Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:ERBOS) added 5.52% or 3.55 points to end at 67.85 and Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) was up 3.73% or 4.20 points to 116.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS), which lost 2.87% or 0.340 points to trade at 11.500 in late trade. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 2.86% or 0.160 points to end at 5.430 and ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) shed 2.42% or 0.130 points to 5.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 220 to 132 and 54 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.13% or 1.63 to $1223.33 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.28% or 1.03 to hit $46.16 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.01% or 0.96 to trade at $48.75 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.47% to 3.6232, while EUR/TRY rose 1.04% to 4.1374.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 95.65.
