Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Metal Products & Machinery and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 2.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 7.83% or 1.52 points to trade at 20.94 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 7.69% or 0.020 points to end at 0.280 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 6.71% or 0.450 points to 7.160 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which lost 2.69% or 0.28 points to trade at 10.14 in late trade. Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) declined 2.22% or 0.030 points to end at 1.320 and Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) shed 1.77% or 0.23 points to 12.77.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 310 to 51 and 46 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.24% or 2.85 to $1173.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.99% or 1.03 to hit $50.76 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 0.96 to trade at $53.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 2.23% to 3.4451, while EUR/TRY fell 2.54% to 3.6978.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 100.39.
