Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Food & Beverages and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.56% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN), which rose 6.83% or 0.51 points to trade at 7.98 at the close. Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) added 5.88% or 2.24 points to end at 40.34 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was up 4.78% or 1.02 points to 22.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Do-Co (IS:DOCO), which lost 2.64% or 6.70 points to trade at 247.30 in late trade. Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) declined 1.10% or 0.050 points to end at 4.490 and Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) shed 1.08% or 0.040 points to 3.670.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 253 to 88 and 68 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 1.05% or 14.05 to $1329.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.70% or 0.76 to hit $45.51 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.97% or 0.91 to trade at $47.17 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.66% to 2.8807, while EUR/TRY fell 0.47% to 3.2026.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 96.16.
