Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Tourism and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN), which rose 6.63% or 0.430 points to trade at 6.920 at the close. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) added 6.15% or 3.55 points to end at 61.25 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was up 5.16% or 0.90 points to 18.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which lost 3.32% or 4.50 points to trade at 131.00 in late trade. Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) declined 2.07% or 5.00 points to end at 236.50 and Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) shed 1.68% or 0.030 points to 1.760.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 299 to 106 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 1.89% or 22.30 to $1199.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.25% or 0.15 to hit $60.48 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.14 to trade at $64.00 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 2.7092, while EUR/TRY rose 0.69% to 3.0918.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 94.03.
