Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Metal Products & Machinery, Basic Metals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which rose 9.04% or 0.30 points to trade at 3.62 at the close. Arcelik (IS:ARCLK) added 7.13% or 1.35 points to end at 20.28 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) was up 6.26% or 1.48 points to 25.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which lost 6.98% or 1.80 points to trade at 23.98 in late trade. Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) declined 2.08% or 0.020 points to end at 0.940 and Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) shed 1.71% or 0.030 points to 1.720.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 219 to 108 and 82 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 1.34% or 17.75 to $1338.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $48.43 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.11 to trade at $49.82 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.64% to 2.8950, while EUR/TRY rose 1.02% to 3.2285.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 95.62.
