Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Leasing & Factoring, Transport and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC), which rose 4.37% or 0.52 points to trade at 12.41 at the close. Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) added 4.27% or 0.88 points to end at 21.50 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) was up 3.89% or 0.26 points to 6.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which lost 4.12% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.930 in late trade. Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN) declined 2.92% or 0.080 points to end at 2.660 and Do-Co (IS:DOCO) shed 2.59% or 5.20 points to 195.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 266 to 82 and 57 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.71% or 8.25 to $1177.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.69% or 0.35 to hit $51.41 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.30 to trade at $54.24 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.53% to 3.5214, while EUR/TRY rose 0.62% to 3.7588.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 100.80.
