Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Wood, Paper & Printing and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 7.02% or 0.160 points to trade at 2.440 at the close. Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) added 5.46% or 14.00 points to end at 270.50 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Do-Co (IS:DOCO), which lost 4.73% or 13.90 points to trade at 280.10 in late trade. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) declined 2.42% or 0.10 points to end at 4.04 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) shed 2.04% or 0.010 points to 0.480.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 200 to 122 and 87 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 1.30% or 16.25 to $1263.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.51% or 0.76 to hit $51.12 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 0.91 to trade at $52.35 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.32% to 2.8881, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 3.2922.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 93.53.
