Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Metal Products & Machinery, Holdings & Investments and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS), which rose 9.22% or 1.35 points to trade at 16.00 at the close. Sabanci Holding (IS:SAHOL) added 5.71% or 0.57 points to end at 10.55 and Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO) was up 5.61% or 2.05 points to 38.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which lost 19.33% or 0.460 points to trade at 1.920 in late trade. Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) declined 8.96% or 0.060 points to end at 0.610 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) shed 3.89% or 0.070 points to 1.730.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 247 to 158 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.82% or 9.70 to $1192.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.63% or 1.56 to hit $60.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.80% or 1.84 to trade at $67.46 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.19% to 2.6618, while EUR/TRY fell 0.44% to 2.9926.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 94.48.
