Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Leasing & Factoring, Sports and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 12.41% or 3.72 points to trade at 33.70 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) added 8.26% or 0.180 points to end at 2.360 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was up 7.35% or 0.150 points to 2.190 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which lost 2.63% or 0.190 points to trade at 7.040 in late trade. Do-Co (IS:DOCO) declined 2.14% or 4.80 points to end at 220.00 and Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) shed 1.99% or 0.090 points to 4.440.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 173 to 140 and 92 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.41% or 5.05 to $1228.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.59% or 0.27 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.21 to trade at $46.84 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.78% to 3.3488, while EUR/TRY rose 0.62% to 3.5777.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 100.49.
