Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Wood, Paper & Printing and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 4.43% or 1.40 points to trade at 33.00 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 4.17% or 0.010 points to end at 0.240 and Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO) was up 3.89% or 1.15 points to 30.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which lost 4.73% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.610 in late trade. Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) declined 3.70% or 0.45 points to end at 11.70 and Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) shed 3.64% or 0.020 points to 0.530.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 205 to 193 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.90% or 10.20 to $1123.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.08% or 0.96 to hit $47.21 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.32% or 0.67 to trade at $51.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.72% to 2.9626, while EUR/TRY fell 0.27% to 3.2946.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 96.52.
