Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Insurance, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which rose 10.73% or 1.24 points to trade at 12.80 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) added 9.63% or 0.210 points to end at 2.390 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) was up 7.90% or 1.40 points to 19.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which lost 3.82% or 1.24 points to trade at 31.24 in late trade. Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:ALCTL) declined 2.07% or 0.230 points to end at 10.890 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) shed 1.74% or 0.35 points to 19.81.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 180 to 164 and 64 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.05% or 13.57 to $1279.63 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.77 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.05 to trade at $48.01 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.69% to 3.5248, while EUR/TRY fell 1.05% to 3.9554.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 96.98.
