Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Transport and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which rose 15.84% or 0.320 points to trade at 2.340 at the close. Albaraka Turk Katilim Bankasi AS (IS:ALBRK) added 4.84% or 0.060 points to end at 1.300 and Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS) was up 4.18% or 0.780 points to 19.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN), which lost 3.76% or 0.150 points to trade at 3.840 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 2.50% or 0.010 points to end at 0.390 and Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) shed 2.42% or 0.030 points to 1.210.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 195 to 143 and 69 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.11% or 14.25 to $1296.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.40% or 0.19 to hit $47.59 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.04 to trade at $49.51 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.01% to 3.5236, while EUR/TRY rose 0.11% to 3.9713.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 96.56.
