Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Electricity, Telecoms and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were AK Enerji (IS:AKENR), which rose 7.37% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.020 at the close. Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) added 7.37% or 0.210 points to end at 3.060 and Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) was up 4.07% or 10.00 points to 256.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which lost 6.47% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.590 in late trade. Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) declined 4.06% or 0.28 points to end at 6.62 and Good-Year (IS:GOODY) shed 3.19% or 0.13 points to 3.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 193 to 121 and 91 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.77% or 9.75 to $1258.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.02% or 0.51 to hit $50.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.61 to trade at $52.47 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.11% to 3.0480, while EUR/TRY fell 0.43% to 3.4051.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 96.55.
