Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Sports and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN), which rose 5.63% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.690 at the close. Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) added 5.03% or 0.37 points to end at 7.72 and T. Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) was up 4.10% or 0.36 points to 9.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which lost 7.18% or 0.130 points to trade at 1.680 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.45% or 0.010 points to end at 0.280 and Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) shed 3.11% or 1.14 points to 35.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 170 to 149 and 88 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 1.51% or 19.45 to $1272.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.80% or 0.90 to hit $49.06 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.82% or 0.92 to trade at $49.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.05% to 2.9080, while EUR/TRY fell 0.33% to 3.2757.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 94.02.
