Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Trading & Consumer Goods and Rubber sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were L&K Eng (TW:6139), which rose 9.97% or 1.70 points to trade at 18.75 at the close. Mbi (TW:1783) added 9.96% or 2.25 points to end at 24.85 and Formosa Sumco (TW:3532) was up 9.92% or 3.70 points to 41.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sunplus Tech (TW:2401), which lost 9.61% or 1.35 points to trade at 12.70 in late trade. Sinkang Inds (TW:2032) declined 6.03% or 0.60 points to end at 9.35 and Makalot (TW:1477) shed 5.44% or 13.50 points to 234.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 451 to 384 and 3 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.11% or 0.05 to $46.71 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $49.76 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.57% or 6.60 to trade at $1172.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.64% to 32.525, while TWD/CNY rose 0.26% to 0.1959.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.66.
