Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sintronic Tech (TW:3536), which rose 10.00% or 0.58 points to trade at 6.38 at the close. Anderson (TW:1528) added 9.97% or 0.90 points to end at 9.93 and Tpk Holding (TW:3673) was up 8.99% or 6.60 points to 80.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hiti Digital (TW:3494), which lost 9.90% or 2.00 points to trade at 18.20 in late trade. Ta-I Tech (TW:2478) declined 6.32% or 1.20 points to end at 17.80 and Yoko Tech (TW:6131) shed 6.01% or 0.61 points to 9.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 517 to 252 and 83 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.16% or 0.46 to $39.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.69% or 0.28 to hit $40.19 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.51% or 6.20 to trade at $1217.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.00% to 32.621, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2003.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 96.19.
