Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Glass and Paper & Pulp sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Acceptance (TW:9941), which rose 9.94% or 8.80 points to trade at 97.30 at the close. Chuwa Wool (TW:1439) added 9.94% or 1.75 points to end at 19.35 and Jui Li (TW:1512) was up 9.92% or 0.62 points to 6.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jenn Feng (TW:1538), which lost 5.46% or 0.41 points to trade at 7.10 in late trade. Elite Matl (TW:2383) declined 5.30% or 7.00 points to end at 125.00 and Enlight Corp (TW:2438) shed 4.80% or 0.44 points to 8.72.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 388 to 357 and 133 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.65% or 0.32 to $49.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.55% or 0.29 to hit $52.80 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.01 to trade at $1251.79 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 30.241, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2271.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 97.59.
