Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Glass and Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Enterex International Ltd (TW:1592), which rose 10.00% or 4.45 points to trade at 48.95 at the close. Mospec (TW:2434) added 9.99% or 0.67 points to end at 7.38 and Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) was up 9.93% or 1.50 points to 16.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kuangli Photoelectric Tech (TW:6431), which lost 10.00% or 1.20 points to trade at 10.80 in late trade. Pihsiang (TW:1729) declined 9.89% or 3.55 points to end at 32.35 and Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) shed 9.70% or 1.30 points to 12.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 670 to 141 and 63 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.09% or 0.04 to $46.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.33 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.58 to trade at $1227.68 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.33% to 30.261, while TWD/CNY fell 0.13% to 0.2281.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 99.14.
