Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Cement and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Paragon Tech (TW:3518), which rose 9.95% or 1.90 points to trade at 21.00 at the close. Bizlink (TW:3665) added 9.90% or 20.00 points to end at 222.00 and Crowell (TW:2528) was up 9.90% or 0.86 points to 9.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pihsiang (TW:1729), which lost 9.90% or 2.60 points to trade at 23.65 in late trade. Genius (TW:3406) declined 7.99% or 27.00 points to end at 311.00 and Cx Tech (TW:2415) shed 7.31% or 2.20 points to 27.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 409 to 365 and 105 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.40% or 0.19 to $48.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.41% or 0.21 to hit $50.98 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 3.65 to trade at $1227.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.12% to 30.169, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2289.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 99.48.
