Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Other and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.26% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aoc (TW:6289), which rose 10.00% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.21 at the close. Gintech (TW:3514) added 10.00% or 2.00 points to end at 22.00 and Scpc (TW:1720) was up 10.00% or 3.20 points to 35.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Giantplus (TW:8105), which lost 5.99% or 0.80 points to trade at 12.55 in late trade. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) declined 4.96% or 0.60 points to end at 11.50 and Phytohealth (TW:4108) shed 4.33% or 1.30 points to 28.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 538 to 298 and 1 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.24% or 0.11 to $46.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $48.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.14% or 1.60 to trade at $1171.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.15% to 32.365, while TWD/CNY fell 0.10% to 0.1965.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.93.
