Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Hotels, Other and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Action Eltr (TW:3024), which rose 10.00% or 0.380 points to trade at 4.180 at the close. Jenn Feng (TW:1538) added 10.00% or 0.51 points to end at 5.61 and Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) was up 9.37% or 0.39 points to 4.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475), which lost 9.06% or 1.15 points to trade at 11.55 in late trade. Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) declined 6.23% or 1.60 points to end at 24.10 and Elite Adv Lase (TW:3450) shed 5.58% or 7.00 points to 118.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 395 to 351 and 109 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.27% or 0.13 to $47.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.48% or 0.24 to hit $49.43 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.45 to trade at $1327.05 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.01% to 31.670, while TWD/CNY rose 0.24% to 0.2106.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 94.56.
