Investing.com – Sweden equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 declined 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Svenska Cellulosa AB SCA ser. B (ST:SCAb), which rose 0.75% or 1.8 points to trade at 240.7 at the close. Hennes & Mauritz AB, H & M ser. B (ST:HMb) added 0.21% or 0.7 points to end at 340.1 and Electrolux, AB ser. B (ST:ELUXb) was up 0.20% or 0.5 points to 254.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which lost 4.92% or 2.13 points to trade at 41.15 in late trade. Atlas Copco AB ser. B (ST:ATCOb) declined 3.62% or 8.0 points to end at 213.0 and Atlas Copco AB ser. A (ST:ATCOa) shed 3.56% or 8.8 points to 238.1.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 300 to 129 and 8 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.57% or 0.80 to $50.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.82% or 0.47 to hit $56.58 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.08% or 11.90 to trade at $1091.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.40% to 9.3863, while USD/SEK rose 0.96% to 8.6316.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 97.91.
