Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 added 1.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Getinge AB ser. B (ST:GETIBs), which rose 3.82% or 7.6 points to trade at 206.3 at the close. Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE) added 3.38% or 4.50 points to end at 137.70 and Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) was up 3.28% or 3.30 points to 103.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ABB Ltd (ST:ABB), which added 0.29% or 0.5 points to trade at 171.5 in late trade. Atlas Copco AB ser. B (ST:ATCOb) added 0.54% or 1.1 points to end at 204.3 and Atlas Copco AB ser. A (ST:ATCOa) gained 0.62% or 1.4 points to 227.1.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 357 to 80 and 5 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.61% or 1.35 to $53.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 3.41% or 1.95 to hit $58.99 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.70 to trade at $1161.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.07% to 9.3681, while USD/SEK rose 0.40% to 8.4967.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 96.72.
