Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 rose 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb), which rose 8.03% or 8.40 points to trade at 113.00 at the close. Svenska Cellulosa AB SCA ser. B (ST:SCAb) added 7.35% or 18.4 points to end at 268.8 and Nokia Oyj (ST:NOKIA) was up 2.11% or 1.00 points to 48.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Boliden AB (ST:BOL), which lost 1.28% or 2.40 points to trade at 185.60 in late trade. Securitas AB ser. B (ST:SECUb) declined 1.28% or 1.90 points to end at 146.00 and Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA) shed 1.21% or 3.7 points to 301.6.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 309 to 290 and 51 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.85% or 1.37 to $46.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.88% or 0.94 to hit $49.02 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.16% or 15.65 to trade at $1330.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.12% to 9.4595, while USD/SEK rose 0.30% to 8.4019.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 94.76.
