Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella confirmed that "Starfield" had a significant impact on the growth of Xbox Game Pass.

When "Starfield" was launched, it resulted in the highest single-day increase in Game Pass subscribers ever recorded, according to Insider Gaming.

Subscription services have been gaining increasing popularity, and Game Pass is no exception. Microsoft's commitment to adding day-one titles to Game Pass has continued to impress gamers worldwide, making the service a remarkable value for their money.

Notably, Xbox is currently experiencing a substantial upswing, with a recent financial report indicating a 13% quarter-on-quarter revenue growth. The success of "Xbox Gaming" in the first quarter was particularly noteworthy, even though hardware sales saw a 7% decline.

The cause of this dip remains unclear, but leaked Microsoft documents hint at upcoming console refreshes. The company is planning mid-generation updates for Xbox Series X and Series S next year, with a next-gen Xbox slated for 2028.

Microsoft's acquisition of "Call of Duty" maker Activision Blizzard Inc (NASDAQ: ATVI), while not detailed in the financial report, marks a significant milestone. The company intends to bring a substantial catalog of Activision Blizzard games to Xbox Game Pass in the near future, enhancing the platform's gaming offerings.
