Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Palm Oil sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) added 10.32% or 7.10 points to end at 75.90 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 9.09% or 0.10 points to 1.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which lost 11.05% or 198.90 points to trade at 1601.00 in late trade. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 8.33% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) shed 7.52% or 22.20 points to 273.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 100 and 15 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.59% or 0.72 to $45.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.69% or 0.83 to hit $50.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.22% or 2.40 to trade at $1091.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.08% to 208.500, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 133.745.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 97.41.
