Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Land & Property, Healthcare and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 16.67% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.7000 and Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) was up 15.35% or 3.10 points to 23.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which lost 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 in late trade. Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) declined 10.18% or 5.60 points to end at 49.40 and Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) shed 8.70% or 10.00 points to 105.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 79 and 70 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.33% or 0.16 to $49.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.31% or 0.16 to hit $52.29 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 5.44 to trade at $1272.06 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.28% to 195.145, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 152.240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 98.97.
