Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Palm Oil and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) added 100.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.200 and Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) was up 18.67% or 1.40 points to 8.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which lost 23.86% or 369.80 points to trade at 1180.20 in late trade. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) declined 21.20% or 366.00 points to end at 1360.60 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) shed 13.82% or 152.30 points to 950.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 85 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.42% or 0.19 to $45.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.54% or 0.26 to hit $47.48 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.21 to trade at $1222.31 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.25% to 198.605, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 153.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.56.
