Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.06% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Asia Capital PLC (CM:ACAP), which rose 16.98% or 0.90 points to trade at 6.20 at the close. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Anilana Hotels & Properties Ltd (CM:ANIL) was up 16.67% or 0.200 points to 1.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.4000 in late trade. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) shed 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 78 to 77 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.74% or 0.36 to $49.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.75% or 0.39 to hit $52.20 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 2.00% or 24.05 to trade at $1224.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.20% to 186.330, while USD/LKR fell 0.14% to 151.880.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 100.46.
