Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Services, Trading and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.06% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB), which rose 24.79% or 14.90 points to trade at 75.00 at the close. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) added 20.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.200 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) was up 17.84% or 98.10 points to 648.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which lost 18.03% or 11.00 points to trade at 50.00 in late trade. Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA) declined 12.00% or 15.00 points to end at 110.00 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) shed 11.76% or 8.00 points to 60.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 72 and 63 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.47% or 0.23 to $49.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.38% or 0.20 to hit $52.39 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.57% or 6.85 to trade at $1196.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 184.170, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 151.390.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 101.83.
