Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.58% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 33.33% or 0.300 points to trade at 1.200 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 17.73% or 2.50 points to end at 16.60 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 14.29% or 0.1000 points to 0.8000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which lost 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 in late trade. Palm Garden Hotels PLC (CM:PALM) declined 5.03% or 1.50 points to end at 28.30 and Kotagala Plantations PLC (CM:KOTA) shed 4.72% or 0.60 points to 12.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 130 to 57 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $45.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.35% or 0.17 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 6.89 to trade at $1235.49 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.46% to 197.155, while USD/LKR rose 0.37% to 152.360.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 98.75.
