Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.49% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 49.83% or 15.00 points to end at 45.10 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was up 34.34% or 536.50 points to 2099.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nestle Lanka PLC (CM:NEST), which lost 11.06% or 248.90 points to trade at 2001.00 in late trade. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) declined 9.28% or 102.30 points to end at 1000.00 and Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) shed 7.06% or 0.60 points to 7.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 113 to 82 and 51 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.55% or 0.27 to $49.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.56% or 0.29 to hit $52.11 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.16 to trade at $1234.16 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.23% to 196.635, while USD/LKR fell 0.05% to 152.510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 98.38.
