Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Services and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.40% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Commercial Development Company PLC (CM:COMD) added 19.36% or 19.30 points to end at 119.00 and Three Acre Farms PLC (CM:TAFL) was up 17.89% or 17.00 points to 112.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Brown & Company PLC (CM:BRWN), which lost 8.92% or 11.70 points to trade at 119.40 in late trade. Colonial Motors PLC (CM:COLO) declined 6.47% or 9.80 points to end at 141.70 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) shed 6.25% or 0.10 points to 1.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 139 to 65 and 19 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.84% or 0.36 to $42.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.26% or 0.13 to hit $49.32 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.33% or 3.70 to trade at $1116.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.42% to 211.085, while USD/LKR rose 0.18% to 134.895.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 96.72.
